Bio: Ali Shaw learned about small business and how books are made even before she learned how to read. As she played in her mom’s print shop—running between the cash register, typesetter, light table, and press—she picked up a little about client relationships and paying the bills as well as the stages of writing, editing, design, production prep, printing, and binding. She furthered this early business and publishing experience with a bachelor's degree in English from Willamette University and a master's degree in publishing from Portland State University's Ooligan Press program.
In 2006, Ali launched a small editing firm to offer services to authors and publishers in the Northwest. Indigo: Editing, Design, and More has since grown to offer not only editing but also design, ebook conversion, publication consulting, and audiobook production for authors and publishers around the world. Ali lives in Oregon with her husband and a passel of rescue animals, and her family is in the process of adopting three incredible children. Ali's new book Write Book (Check). Now What? released in October 2021. |
